Michael Seifert

Michael W. Seifert – President & CEO

While at Morrison Knudsen, Michael was involved in milestone projects such as the GM Saturn project, Sunshine Skyway Bridge Tampa Florida, etc. Michael managed the financial functions of “mega” projects in Texas, Virginia, and two corporate support roles at the World Headquarters, in Boise ID.

Michael returned to North Dakota to take the Corporate Controller role for Strata Corporation (Bradshaw Gravel, NoDak Construction, Red River Cement Products, etc.) in Grand Forks. He oversaw an aggressive M&A function, and overall financial responsibility, including budgetary, compliance, internal and external reporting, tax, and overall back office support functions. Also, Michael was integral in Strata’s acquisition strategy. The company grew from 125 to nearly 600 employees during Michael’s tenure. Michael’s team implemented a state of the art construction industry ERP / MRP solution built on top of a wide area network.

Michael was instrumental in the foundation and development of the UNISYS global shared services facility in Bismarck, North Dakota. While there Michael authored a REACH award for the UNISYS financial reengineering efforts he led resulting in global recognition by CFO Magazine, MasterCard Corporation and the Hackett Groupe. This facility housed the consolidation of all Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset Management, Treasury Operations, Travel and Entertainment Accounting, HR Resume support, activity which exceeded $3.5 billion in annual disbursements. Michael held an executive leadership role with Ingersoll Rand for 10 years. Michael served as the Director of Global Business Development and also was responsible for all financial activity for Global Operations (Czech Republic, Germany, France, China, Belgium and in North America – Gwinner and Bismarck, ND and Augusta, GA) for Ingersoll Rand’s Compact Vehicle Technologies Sector (Bobcat & Club Car Business Units). This responsibility scope was approximately $4 billion of Ingersoll Rand’s $11 billion global portfolio. Michael also chaired Ingersoll Rand’s new product development process and the global portfolio management team chartered with deploying a process and ERP solution to manage Ingersoll Rand’s global portfolio of R&D and Engineering programmes for all business units (Schlage, ThermoKing, Hussman, Bobcat, Club Car, Ingersoll Rand, etc.).

Michael currently consults extensively for the North Dakota Trade Office. He’s led global M&A initiatives and worked with other global professionals who assist North Dakota businesses in overcoming financial resource and production capacity constraints that limit exports. Michael works closely with globally and regionally recognized private equity firms, banks , exporters, political figures and other finance professionals including licensed custom brokers, contract manufacturers, supply chain / logistics experts and North Dakota colleges and universities. Michael was most recently recognized in Fortune Magazine in February 2011 for a $50mm JV with the Kazakhstan Government.
